Spider-Man: No Way Home spoilers follow.
Andrew Garfield has shared an update on those The Amazing Spider-Man 3 rumours. Well, sort of.
The Tick, Tick... Boom! actor spoke to The Hollywood Reporter at the 2022 Oscars red carpet last Sunday (March 27), giving the perfect response as to whether his very own Peter Parker will return to the screen.
As many fans will know by now, Garfield – who played Peter in The Amazing Spider-Man and its sequel – donned the red and blue suit again in Tom Holland's Spider-Man: No Way Home. The Spidey trio was completed with Tobey Maguire, who played the superhero in the 2000s trilogy directed by Sam Raimi.

"No update from me," Garfield said on the red carpet, adding: "No one's going to believe anything I say ever again. That's my problem."
The Oscar-nominated actor was clearly looking back on the time where No Way Home was plagued by leaks of his and Maguire's cameos. As it is often the case with the MCU, the actors had obviously been sworn to secrecy and did their best not to ruin the surprise for moviegoers.

In interviews prior to the film's release last December, Garfield tried to sound convincing when he said that the sole idea of him playing Peter again was hilarious. He even went the extra mile, shutting down the rumour with close friends, including his The Amazing Spider-Man co-star Emma Stone.
As the spider is now very much out of the bag, we're not sure we'd trust Garfield at this point, but we'd very much be happy to see his Peter in a well-earned third movie of his own.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is available to buy now on Prime Video, iTunes, Microsoft Store and other digital retailers.
